~ I Give You Permission ~
Written by Becky Khalil
What would it mean to wake up without the restrictions of existence tying you down to your patterns, beliefs and behaviours? To know that you are allowed to be exactly who you are meant to be. To walk the earth like the universe meant for you. To shine your brightest from the inside out, knowing that you are who you are, and that is enough!?
Imagine waking up to a day of freedom and luxury, for which does not need to be materialistic. Luxury can be a state of mind or a pace of life. Imagine feeling so privileged in life that you get to live exactly how you like. Whether that is the day to yourself or a trip to Bali. Maybe it is spending some time in the mountains or going for a spa. Perhaps it is immersing yourself in Yoga or breathwork, without the limitations of time and responsibility. Really, just imagine!
Tension is who you think you are but relaxation is who you truly are.
My question for you is what do you do to give yourself the relaxation you deserve? Are you running from job to job, multitasking as you go? “I don’t have time for relaxation” you may be saying. Well, we have news for you:
You have time for what you make time for
Gifting yourself the opportunity to retreat into yourself a relax from your scatty, hectic self is not something that we take lightly. We know that when you truly let go of the tension inside, physically, energetically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually, you drop the chains of meaningless living and start to sew the seed of happiness, joy and laughter.
Here are 5 ways that you can bring yourself back to being you:
#1 Gift yourself a little piece of luxury every day
Whether that be sitting quietly in meditation or taking the time to walk in the sunshine, life is made up of tiny moments. If these tiny moments can be more mindful and consciously driven with self-care and self-love, then the meaning of “luxury” has the opportunity to change and your life the chance to transform.
#2 Honour yourself the gift of time
Time is of the essence and we only live once. What are the things that you have been dreaming to do or achieve? Start setting intentions to make actions towards those dreams now. Whether it be travel, a yoga retreat, a spiritual journey, whatever it is, start setting the intention today.
#3 Plan a trip to go somewhere you love
Travelling makes the heart young and the mind free. We do not travel to escape life we travel for life not to escape us. Plan a trip to go somewhere that you love. It doesn’t have to be long or far. Take yourself into nature, swim in the ocean, lay on the sand, hike a mountain, eat in tasty restaurants and watch the sun go down.
#4 Go on a Yoga Retreat
Spend time working on yourself. Any time doing this will not be time wasted. Whether it be a yoga retreat for relaxation, to learn something new, to meet like minded people or just to simple have a break from the patterns of every day living, this is an investment in YOU.
#5 Start a meditation practice
Meditation doesn’t have to be sitting quietly, observing the breath. It can be walking, dancing, shaking. Meditation is a practice that induces a conscious state of awareness, to achieve mastery and control of the mind. If this seems too much right now then start a Yin Yoga practice which is a bridge to meditation. There are many benefits to Yin Yoga and approaches in how to start practising. If these two don’t resonate with you right now then pick a practice that resonates with you and induces a focused state of being.
Coming home to yourself is not a waste of time
It is not irresponsible and it is certainly not selfish. It is courageous, heartfelt and magical. When you can be your best self, shining from the inside out, you can share that happiness, radiance and glow with everyone you pass, leaving a little shimmer and sparkle wherever you go.
